<note>The objective of the research was to get empirical evidence of the effect of
reciprocal teaching method on students’ reading comprehension at tenth grade of
SMK Lab Business School Tangerang in academic year 2018/2019. The method
that used in the research was quasi-experimental method which divided into two
different classes. The classes were given different treatment. Experimental class
was taught by reciprocal teaching method. The students’ populations of tenth
grade at SMK Lab Business School Tangerang are 276 students, and the samples
are 73 students (41 students for experimental class and 32 students for controlled
class). The sampling technique that was used was purposive sampling. Moreover,
this research was conducted through the following procedures: giving pre-test,
applying treatments and giving post-test. The data analysed in this research was
gathered through test and questionnaire for experimental class. The test forms are
40 items of multiple choices. The questionnaire consists of 10 questions. The
writer used written test, and counting the data with used Komogorov-Smirnov and
Shapiro-Wilk to test the data normality, used Levene statistic to test data
homogeneity. The result of this research showed the students’ score of reading
comprehension after taught by Reciprocal Teaching Method. Moreover, the result
of the questionnaire shows that the students in experimental class give the positive
respond. In addition, the reciprocal teaching method is effective in teaching
reading comprehension on students at tenth grade of SMK Lab Business School
Tangerang.</note>
