<note>The aim of this study was to find out whether there is a significant effect of story
mapping strategy at the tenth grade students SMK Teknologi Pilar Bangsa. This
research is a quantitative method, with a sample of 58 students which was divided
into two classes, the sample was taken non-randomly using a quasi-experimental
non-equivalent control group design. To collect data the writer uses pre-test, posttest, and questionnaire as main idea and observation as additional data. The result
of this study, there was a significant effect to used story mapping strategy to
increase reading comprehension and motivation at the tenth grade of SMK
Teknologi Pilar Bangsa, because the conditions of the students in the experimental
class are active, feel interested and more enthusiastic during learning. In addition,
it is easier for them to experience increased reading comprehension and motivation
by using story mapping strategy than control class taught only by conventional
method.</note>
