This research describes the effect of Pen Pal Application, to find out students’ responses used new strategy especially for writing recount text skills in MAN 2 Tangerang. And also, how to prepare all the students to learn writing skill and Motivation in Learning English with implementation of Pen Pal Application. The researcher used tenth grade students in MAN 2 Tangerang as the subject of research with 76 participants, for experiment class 38 students and control class 38 students. Research method that used by the researcher is quasi-experimental research. Data was collected by conducting pre-test, post-test, and questionnaire. The result of this research showed that pen pal Application was effective to increase students’ writing ability and Motivation in Learning English. Data Analysis used Independent Samples Test in writing skill showed that the value of sig (2-taled) was 0.049 < 0.05. and also, Data Analysis used Independent Samples Test in students’ Motivation in Learning English showed that the value of sig (2-taled) was 0.008< 0.05. it can be concluded that the working hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, while the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. Based on the research, pen pal Application can be a solution and Motivation in Learning English for teacher and students to create effective learning process. The researcher expected the result of this study give some benefit for teachers, students and the others researchers.
