<note>The aim of this study was to improving students’ writing skill using Google Docs to
help students to understand the text that they write. This study conducted at the second semester
of the tenth grade of SMAN 19 Kab. Tangerang in academic year 2022/2023. The independent
variable of this study is Google Docs application. The dependent variable investigated in this
study was writing skill. The study was an experimental. The total number of population was 9
classes. From the population, two clases used as samples. They were devided into two groups:
Google Docs group and textbook group. In this study, the scores of students’ writing skill
acquired by essay test. The data were analyzed by using SPSS 22. The result of the analysis
showed that: (1) Google Docs can improving students’ writing skills in narrative text and it
was in good category. (2) There was significant effect of using Google Docs on tenth grade
students’ writing skill. (3) Google Docs can give some benefit and positive perception for
students compared to textbook. Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that Google
Docs was better than textbook on students’ writing skill and perception.</note>
