<note>This study was conducted to determine the effect on reading comprehension and
learning motivation in students by using small group discussion. The research
method used was quantitative research and the research design was QuasiExperimental research using questionnaires, pre-test and post-test in the control
class and experimental class. The target population of this study was class X
students of SMK Bina Bangsa Tangerang City in the 2022/2023 school year with
a sample of 72 students.The hypothesis analysis method uses the Wilcoxon test
because the data used is not normally distributed. Based on the results of nonparametric tests, the sig value on reading comprehension is 0.000 <0.05, so the
alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. In addition, the results of the nonparametric test on the questionnaire with a sig value of 0.000 <0.05 said that
student learning motivation was also influenced by using small group discussion.
So it can be said that there is an effect on students' reading comprehension and
learning motivation by using small group discussion.</note>
