<note>The learning model is very necessary for students in learning English. The students'
success in mastering the language can increase along with the increase in students'
critical thinking. However, most students in high school and above have a level of
thinking that is lacking in learning. Therefore, teachers must use appropriate
learning models to improve students' critical thinking. The purpose of this research
was to determine the effect of using the Flipped Classroom learning model in
learning English to improve students' critical thinking. The research population was
students of class X MAN 2 Kota Tangerang. The sample consisted of 75 students,
38 IPS 1 students as the experimental class and 37 IPS 3 students as the control
class. The experimental class teaches using Flipped Classroom learning and the
control class teaches using traditional learning or conventional techniques. This
research used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The research
used a multiple-choice test from Cornell Critical Thinking Test Form X. Data
analysis was carried out by testing the hypothesis using SPSS 26. The results of the
research show that there is a significant difference between critical thinking in the
experimental class and control in class.</note>
