Isdiana, NIM: 1605020001, „’The effect of Using Photographs on Instagram to Improve students’ Writing Skill at the Eleventh Grade of SMAN 14 Kabupaten Tangerang in Academic Year 2020/2021’’. Mini Thesis, English Language Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Islam Syekh Yusuf Tangerang. This research was conducted at SMAN 14 Kabupaten Tangerang. The aim of this research is to find out whether or not there is a significant effect of using photographs on Instagram to improve students‟ writing skill. The population of this research was the eleven grade of SMAN 14 Kabupaten Tangerang. The sample took 35 students of IPS 2. This research used Quasi-Experimental. The data is collected through pre-test and post-test. The result of this research was statistical calculation by Kolmogorov-Smirnov of nonparametric by Wilcoxon test, it is known the significances of the pre-test and posttest in experimental class data is 0.000 less than 0.05. It can be concluded Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. It means there is a significant difference in using photographs on Instagram in writing skill. Based on the result of this study, it is concluded the effect of using photographs in Instagram can improve students‟ writing skill in writing descriptive text. It was effective and recommended for the English teacher as one of references in teaching and learning process.
