<note>This  research  aims  to  examine  whether  bio-poem  technique  affects  descriptive 
writing ability for students at the ninth grade of  MTSS Nurul Yaqin in the academic 
year 2022/2023. Second,  it is  to find out  the benefits of  using Bio-Poem technique in 
descriptive  writing  for  students  at  the  ninth  grade  of  MTSS  Nurul  Yaqin  in  the 
academic  year  2022/2023.  This  research  used  quasi-experimental  reseach  and 
quantitative  method.  The  research  instrument  used  pre-test,  post-test  and 
questionnaire. The population of this research are students` at ninth grade of MTSS 
Nurul Yaqin Kabupaten Tangerang, and  the sample are  IX A as control class and IX 
C as experimental class.  After conducting the experimental research about the use of 
bio-poem technique, the researcher concluded  that bio-poem technique is effective. It 
was shown with the t-test significance value (2-tailed) is 0,001 < 0,05 which means 
that  there  is  significant  difference  between  pretest  and  posttest  scores.  After  that, 
questionnaire was used to answer the question  “What are the benefits  of Bio-Poem 
for students at ninth grade?”  which  was distributed only in experimental class.  The 
average score of each  statement in the questionnaire  is 77.47%.  It  shows  that the biopoem technique brings benefit for the ninth grade students on descriptive writing.</note>
