The aim of this research is to determine whether or not there is a significant effect in the use of photograph media on improving the writing skills of VIII grade students of SMP Putra Negara Jakarta Barat. Studies on the use of English learning media in the form of Photography have found significant results in improving students' writing skills. This study uses quantitative methods using quasiexperimental research with non-equivalent control group design. The samples used in this study were 29 students in the experimental class and 29 students in the control class. The data was collected by conducting pre-test and post-test. Data analysis using the Independent-Sample T-test showed that the value of Asymp.Sig (2-tailed) was 0.428 > 0.05. It can be concluded that the working hypothesis (Ha) is rejected, while the null hypothesis (Ho) is accepted. This means that the use of Photographs and conventional has no effect on students' writing skills, but based on the mean and total, it shows that the use of Photographs is greater than the conventional method.
