"Researcher on the use of a scientific approach with interesting media, namely the use of Animated Short Movies, have shown positive results in improving writing narrative text and facilitating students‟ critical thinking. The quantitative method using a QuasiExperimental design with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design has been used by the researcher as the research method. The sample of this study amounth 33 students in the experimental class and 33 students in the control class. Researcher conducted pre-test and post-test to collect data. Data analysis using Paired Sample Test. In the results of the data for the students' narrative writing test, it can be seen that Sig (2-tailed) is 0.000 which is < 0.05. and on the results of the student's critical thinking test, it can be seen that Sig (2-tailed) is 0.000 < 0.05. This means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. It can be concluded that there is a significant difference between learning by using Animated Short Movies compared using the conventional method.
