Motivation is necessary for students in learning English vocabulary. The students’ success in mastering language increases as their motivation levels rise. However, the most of students in junior high school have lack motivation to learn new words, especially to memorize them. Therefore, the teachers must find the right media to increase students motivation. Using some applications on a smartphone can help students in vocabulary learning. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of Quizlet application towards students’ motivation in learning English vocabulary. The participants in this research were class VIII.1 as an experimental group and VIII.2 as a control group. Using the questionnaire, it was able to measure the students’ motivation during the vocabulary learning process. Data analysis was performed with perquisite test analysis and hypothesis testing. The result showed that there were significant effect between the motivation of learning English vocabulary in the experiment class and the control class.
