The objective of this research was to find out The correlation between student home literacy and speaking ability. This research was quantitative research. The population of the research was the entire class of tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Kabupaten Tangerang. The sample of the research were 20 students of tenth grade. In collecting data, the writer administered questionnaire which consists of 120 questions of students’ home literacy in the class of tenth class. After administering the questionnaire to the sample of study, then the writer documented the score of students’ English speaking skils gathered from the English teacher. Furthermore, the writer used Chi square test the normality, one-way ANOVA to test the linearity and used pearson Product Moment to moment to find out the level of closeness of the relationship between the variables expressed by the correlation coefficient (r) Then the writer used multiple regression in SPSS 120 to analyzed the data. In the test of hypothesis, it was obtained the sig 0.000 < 0.05, it means there is correlation relationship between variable x and variable y. The correlation coefficient equaled r = 0.874, which indicated there was positive correlation between two variables. From the r number (0.874) the writer could use it to know the strength of correlation between two variables. The number of 0.874 resided between 0.81 – 1.00.
