This research is attempted to discover the effect of using extensive reading on the students’ reading comprehension at the tenth grade of SMA Daarul Muttaqien Tangerang. The subjects of the study were consisted of 71 students from two classes, they were XA and XB of tenth grade students. The type used in this research was quasi experiment research. There were two subjects in this research, that was experiment class that used extensive reading and control class that without used extensive reading. The instrument used in this study was pretest and post-test. The result of the research shows that there was an effect of using extensive reading on the students’ reading comprehension. Almost all students of experiment class showed the proper improvement in the post-test. It established that extensive reading was an effective method to increase students’ English reading comprehension.
