The effect of using student teams achievement division technique on reading comprehension at the eleventh grade of SMAN 14 Kota Tangerang in academic year 2019/2020
The research was aimed to find out whether there is significant effect of students reading
comprehension after taught by using Student Team Achievement Division Technique on Reading
Comprehension at the Eleventh grade of SMAN 14 Kota Tangerang in Academic year of
2019/2020. The population of the research was the eleventh grade of SMAN 14 Kota Tangerang.
The research method was an experimental research, which conducted in one class: the
experimental class (XI IPS 2) and control class (XI IPS 1). The XI IPS 2 was taught by using
Student Team Achievement Division Technique, while the XI IPS 1 was taught by Conventional
Instruction. The formula that was used to analyze the data was t-test. The data was gained by pretest and post-test, it was found that the mean of pre-test in experimental class was 59.03 and control
class was 48.87. Meanwhile, the mean of post-test in experimental class was 67.10 and control
class was 58.87. It was obtained that Ho is accepted and there was not a significant difference from
teaching using Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) Technique on reading
comprehension at the eleventh grade of SMAN 14 Kota Tangerang in academic year 2019/2020.
