Improving writing skill and motivation through blended learning method at eleventh grade of SMAN 3 Kabupaten Tangerang in academic year 2020-2021
The aim of this research was to know whether there is a significant effect of
blended learning method on students’ writing skill and motivation to determine
which one is more dominant between used blended learning method and face to
face in learning students’ writing skill at eleventh grade of SMAN 3 Kabupaten
Tangerang. This research is quantitative method, 72 students as the sample which
taken nonrandom by using quasi experimental research non-equivalent control
group design. .Students’ test and questionnaires were used by the researcher to
collect the data. Based on hypotheses testing, used formula of Wilcoxon Rank test.
It is known that sig (0.000) is smaller than 0.05. This shows that the hypotheses
(Ho) was rejected and the hypotheses (Ha) was accepted. It means, there was
significant used Blended Learning Method in Students’ Writing Skill and
Motivation at the eleventh grade of SMAN 3 Kabupaten Tangerang, because the
condition of students were same proficiency, focused, had concentration, and
students in experimental class had many opinions during the learning. Then, it was
also known from the percentages students’ posttest showing 78% students can pass
Blended Learning Method and 69.4% students can pass Face to Face Method, so
Blended Learning Method was more dominant than Face to Face Method in
Students’ Writing Skill.
