The effect of student team achievement division (stad) technique in reading comprehension at tenth grade students of SMK Persada Kabupaten Tangerang in academic year 2018/2019


The research was aimed to find out whether there is significant effect of
students reading comprehension after taught by using Student Team Achievement
Divisions Technique at tenth grade of SMK Persada Kabupaten Tangerang in
academic year of 2018/2019. The population of the research was the tenth grade
of SMK Persada Kabupaten Tangerang. The research method was an experimental
research, which conducted in one class: the experimental class (X TKJ 2) and
control class (X TKR). The X TKJ 2 was taught by using Student Team
Achievement Divisions Technique, while the X TKR was taught by Conventional
Instruction. The formula that was used to analyze the data was t-test. The data was
gained by pre-test and post-test, it was found that the mean of pre-test in
experimental class was 44.73 and control class was 53.55. Meanwhile, the mean
of post-test in experimental class was 54.39 and control class was 60.77. It was
obtained that Ho is accepted and there was not a significant difference from
teaching using Student Team Achievement Student Divisions (STAD) Technique
in reading comprehension at the tenth grade of SMK Persada Kabupaten
Tangerang in academic year 2018/2019.
