The comparison study between using picture series and video in improving students’ writing skill at tenth grade in Smk Persada Kabupaten Tangerang in academic year 2018/2019


The research was aimed to find out whether there is significant effect of
students writing skill after taught byusing Picture Series on the tenth grade of
SMK PERSADA Kabupaten Tangerang in academic year of 2018/2019.The
population of the research was the tenth grade of SMK PERSADA Kabupaten
Tangerang. The research method was an experimental research, which conducted
in two classes; the experimental class (X TKJ 1) and control class (X AK 1) as
sample. The X TKJ 1 was taught by using Picture Series, while the X AK 1 was
taught by using Video. The formula that was used to analyze the data was t-test.
The data was gained by pre-test and post-test, it was found that the mean of pretest in experimental class was 53.83 and control class was 55.33. Meanwhile, the
mean of post-test in experimental class was 61.50 and control class was 59.33. It
was obtained that the hypothesis Ho is accepted and Ha is rejected and there was
not a significant difference from teaching using Picture Series and teaching using
Video in students’ writing skill at the tenth grade of SMK PERSADA Kabupaten
Tangerang in academic year 2018/2019.
