The effect of using visual pictures on weblog as writing instruction to improve students writing ability for english language learners( A quasi-experimental study at the tenth grade students of SMAN 14 Kabuoaten Tangerang in academic year 2022/2023)
This research aims to determine whether using visual pictures on weblog media can
improve students’ writing skills in recount text. Researcher used quantitative
method and data collection was carried out by a quasi-experimental design. The
total population of class X IPS is 140 students totaling four classes. To select the
sample for this research, the researcher used purposive sampling and took 70
students from two classes, consist of the experimental class (X IPS 1) and control
class (X IPS 2). Media visual pictures on weblog is used in the experimental class,
while conventional techniques are used in the control class in the teaching and
learning process. To collect data, the researcher used a written test in the form of
an essay. After conducting the research, the researcher processed using SPSS 22.
The result showed that there is a positive and significant influence from the use of
media visual pictures on weblogs to improve students’ writing ability in class X
SMAN 14 Kabupaten Tangerang.
