The effectiveness of question answer relationship (QAR) strategy on students reading comprehension at the tenth grade of SMK Putra Rifara Kabupaten Tangerang in academic year 2023/2024


This research was designed to determine whether the effectiveness of
Question Answer Relationship (QAR) as a teaching strategy had a significant
effect on students' reading comprehension achievement. The population of the
research were students of class X SMK Putra Rifara Tangerang. The sample
consisted of 55 students, 28 TKJ students as class experimental and 27 MM students
as class controls. The experimental class used QAR strategy in the teaching
process, while the control class used conventional technique in the teaching
process. This type of research is Quasi-Experimental with quantitative method. The
researcher used multiple choice test, to find out the students’ reading
comprehension of report text and calculated descriptive experimental and control
class data normality, homogeneity, and independent samples t-tests using SPSS 25
to collect data. In conclusion, this research shows that there is a significant
difference between the effectiveness of Question Answer Relationship (QAR) as a
teaching strategy for tenth grade students’ reading comprehension achievement at
SMK Putra Rifara Kabupaten Tangerang in academic year 2023/2024.
