Probability of students' speaking performance determined by affective factors and willingness to communicate at SMK Lab Business School Tangerang & Ma At Taqwa
This study aims to examine the influence of affective factors and willingness to
communicate in students' speaking performance. The sample in this study was 109
samples, which were students from SMK Lab Business School Tangerang and MA
At-Taqwa. The sampling technique was simple random sampling. The data of
affective factors and willingness to communicate were collected using a
questionnaire which was distributed using sheets of paper. Then, students’ speaking
test was taken using presentation of the task given. Data analysis in this study used
Binary Logistic Regression. The instrument distributed to the sample has been
tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that: 1) affective factors
partially affect students' speaking performance, 2) willingness to communicate does
not significantly affect students' speaking performance, 3) there are no differences
between each variable on gender, meaning that both male and female students have
the same opportunity in terms of speaking performance.
