The effect of using short film to improve visual reading skills at tenth grade students of SMAN 14 Kabupaten Tangerang in academic year 2022/2023
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of using short films to
improve visual reading skills at the tenth grade students of SMAN 14
Kabupaten Tangerang in academic year 2022/2023. The method used is a
quantitative method with a quasi-experiemen form. The sample used in
the study were both classes, consisting of 30 students of grade X IPS 3 as
an experimental group and 30 students of grade X IPS 4 as a control
group. Research provide multiple-choice tests as research instruments to
obtain data. Based on the calculation results using descriptive data of
experiment and class control, normality, homogeneity, and paired sample
t-test using SPSS 22. The results obtained by the t test indicated that Ha
was accepted while Ho was rejected and that means the use of short films
has a significant effect on improving visual reading skills. The conclusion
is that the use of short films to improve visual reading skills is good and
effective so that students can watch while learning. Apart from that,
learning in class is more fun and interesting to apply as teaching material
for teachers to teach their students.
