Scaffolded voluntary reading (SVR) : the technique for teaching reading comprehension at the eleventh grade of SMAN 18 Kabupaten Tangerang in academic year 2020/2021
This research aimed to find out whether there is significant effect using
Scaffolded Voluntary Reading (SVR) to improve students’ reading
comprehension at the eleventh grade of SMAN 18 Kabupaten Tangerang in
academic year 2020/2021. The type of this research was an experimental research
and the design of the research was pre-experimental with one group pre-test posttest design. This research took one class as the sample. The experimental class
was given the pre-test at the beginning, the treatment in the middle, and the pos test at the end of the research. The collected data were analyzed by using IBM
statistical SPSS version 23. To analyze the result of the test, the researcher used
T-test, the result of data analysis showed that the value of sig = 0.000 < 0.05
which means that Ha is accepted. It means Scaffolded Voluntary Reading (SVR)
had a significantly positive effect on students’ reading comprehension.
