The effect of speed reading technique on students reading comprehension at 10th grade of SMK Lab Business School Tangerang in academic year 2019/2020
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using Speed Reading Techniques on students' reading comprehension. This research was conducted at the SMK Lab Business School Tangerang with tenth grade in academic year 2019/2020. The sample consisted of 62 students, who were divided into two classes, the XMM 1 experimental class and the controlled class XMM 2. The study consisted of four stages, the first was pre-test, the second and third was learning where the teacher used the Speed Reading Technique to teach in class experiment and the fourth is post-test. The author uses writing test in data collection, and data calculation uses the Lilifors formula to test data normality, Fisher's formula to test data homogeneity. Data obtained by pre-test and post-test, found that the value pre-test in the experimental class was 44.22 and the control class was 44.67. Meanwhile, the value post-test in the experimental class was 56.41 and the control class was 55.00. It was found that there was a significant difference from teaching using the technique of reading fast students in the tenth grade of SMK Lab Business School Tangerang in the academic year 2019/2020.
