The effect of Collaborative Strategic Reading (csr) on students’ reading comprehension for the seventh grade SMP Wipama Kabupaten Tangerang in academic year 2018/2019


The research was conducted to find out the effect of Collaborative Strategic Reading on Students Reading Comprehension for the seventh grade of SMP WIPAMA Cikupa Kabupaten Tangerang in Acedemic year 2018/2019. The research used a quantitative research. The population of this research is 104 students of seventh grade in SMP WIPAMA Cikupa Kab. Tangerang. In selecting the samples, the research used Purposive Sampling Technique. The sample in this research are two classes, experimental class 34 students and controlled class 37 students. There are two variables, first, variable X is Collaborative Strategic Reading, and Y is Reading Comprehension. The research used non parametric test to analyse the result. The result of the statistical calculation and hypothesis testing in chapter IV, it shows that tcount is lower than the ttable which means that Ha is accepted. It means that Collaborative Strategic Reading has a significant positive effect on the English reading comprehension.
