The effect of reading aloud using the “Kids Story Book” application on the improvement of fifth grade students’ reading skill At SDN Kuta Jaya 1 In Pasar Kemis Kabupaten Tangerang in Academic Year 2021/2022
Studies into the use of mobile application (app) for learning English reading skill have found positive results on language improvement and learner engagement. The aim of this research was to know whether there was a significant effect of Kids Story Book Application on the students’ English reading skill at fifth grade of SDN Kuta Jaya 1 in Pasar Kemis, Kabupaten Tangerang academic year 2021/2022. This research was quantitavie method, 30 students as the sample by using preexperimental research one-group pretest-posttest design. The researcher to collect the data used students’ test, observations and documentations. The data was analyzed by mean, standart deviations, and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Statistic results there was a significant effect of reading aloud using Kids Story Book Application on the improvement of fifth grade students’ reading skill at SDN Kuta Jaya 1 Pasar Kemis Kabupaten Tangerang. The results of Wilcoxon Signed Rank test reading skill of the pretest and postest data above was 0 less than < 0.05. it can be concluded that Ha was accepted and Ho rejected. Students’ interest learning English reading also increases using Kids Story Book Application. Also students’ reaction to the teacher performance was good.
