The effect of narrow reading on l2 learners’ vocabulary mastery and interest of reading at SMAN 3 Kabupaten Tangerang in Academic Year 2020/2021
The aim of this research was to know whether there is a significant effect of Narrow Reading on L2 Learners’ Vocabulary Mastery and Interest of Reading at the eleventh grade of SMAN 3 Kabupaten Tangerang. This research is quantitative method, 36 students’ as the sample which taken nonrandom by using quasi experimental research – time series design. Students’ test was used by the researcher to collect the data. Based on the table above, it is known if significance value = 0.000 < 0.05. The alternative hypotheses (Ha) is rejected and the null hypotheses (Ho) is rejected. It means, there is a significance and students' reading interest in the experimental class also increased after the Narrow Reading strategy was implemented with the percentage of reading interest is 61.13% where the results show that the students' reading interest is "good" in learning using Narrow Reading strategies at the eleventh grade of SMAN 3 Kabupaten Tangerang.
