The correlation between students reading habit and reading comprehension at tenth grade of SMAN 14 Kota Tangerang
The purpose of this research was to know whether there is an effect of using
YouTube as media to improve students’ speaking skill. This experiment was
implemented to the Senior High School students with a two class, with two hours per
week, over 4 meetings. Seventy two students participated in the study, with 36
students in the experiment class and 36 students in the control class. The method of
this research was quantitative research. The researcher used two tests to collect the
data namely pre-test and posttest. The hypotheses data was calculated by using SPSS
version 22. Based on hypothesis testing, it can be concluded that there is a significant
effect of using YouTube media than presentation on students’ speaking skill, namely
understanding vocabulary and word pronunciation. There was a significant effect of
using YouTube to improve students' speaking skill at the tenth grade of SMAN 13
Tangerang in the academic year 2019-2020. Based on this research, it is suggested
that to have a good speaking comprehension, students must have good vocabulary
mastery.
