The effect of understanding the type of text (descriptive, narrative, and recount text) on reading comprehension at 11th grade at SMAN 25 Kabupaten Tangerang in academic year 2018/2019
This research aimed to find out whether or not significant correlation of understanding
the type of text (narrative, descriptive, and recount text) on students reading comprehension at
11th grade at SMAN 25 KabupatenTangerang in academic year 2018/2019. This research use
multiple choice to get the data. Based on the result of the research conclusion there are not
significant correlation between understanding the type of text (narrative, descriptive, and recount
text) on reading comprehension. The collected the data were analyzed by using IBM statistical
SPSS verson 24. To analyze the result test, the writer used kendall’stau_b because the data of
understanding the type of text and reading comprehension are not normaly distributif (the
significant is 0.167. If significant > 0.05) it can be concluded that there is no significant
correlation of understanding the type of text (narrative, descriptive, and recount text) on students
reading comprehension.
